There is Power in the Blood
Grace to you and peace from Him who is and who was and who is to come, and from the seven Spirits who are before His throne, and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler over the kings of the earth. To Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood, and He made us kings and priests to His God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.
Revelation 1:4-6

I will never forget singing that old hymn,'' Power in the Blood,'' wonder working power in the Blood. The most powerful agent in the entire universe is the shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ. Nothing can wash away your sin but the blood, nothing can save you but the blood, nothing can change you and wash away your old life but the blood.

The modern gospel that is preached today doesn't speak of blood, only a prayer and a decision to follow someone they don't know. I can't see Jesus saying, every eye closed and every head bowed to a rebellious lot that won't lay down their life to follow Him and will only show up on Sunday and that's only if they receive something. Take away the Starbuck's coffee, the padded seats, the beautiful music and the ''Superstar'' preachers and big screen television and they won't even come.

The message of the cross has faded from the once powerful church that was not afraid to run off the seekers and big tithers and allow the two edged sword of the word of God do its intended work in a person's heart. Today all they care about is numbers, bigger buildings and bottom lines. If you just show up you are counted as saved and no one will ever question you to see if you really possess eternal life. The excuse is that we shouldn't judge, so we just let them go to hell and have a nice funeral and celebrate their life on earth and forget where they are going to spend eternity.

For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, ( going to hell ) but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.   I Corinthians 1: 18

The message of the cross is death, death to the One who was put on it and death to those that submit to it. The cross is the central theme of Christianity, without it we would have nothing. Most of the Western world believes that just being good and going to church will get them to heaven, but they are in for a very rude awakening.

It is foolishness to reject the message of the cross because without the blood that was shed on that cruel instrument of death we could not have our sins washed away in order to be saved from eternal damnation. The Greek word for save is sozo that means to keep safe and sound, to rescue from danger and destruction and to make well and restore health.

The blood of Jesus cleansed us and healed us and made us new creations in Christ giving us the power to be transformed from a worm to a butterfly. Jesus bled in seven places giving us a complete salvation consisting of deliverance, healing and the completeness of all things that pertain to life and Godliness.

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.   II Corinthians 5: 17

THE TRUTH WILL SET YOU FREE

Jesus said, that the truth would set us free, and the truth is this: All of mankind was born with the curse of sin and death in their bloodline inherited from Adam. Jesus died to give us freedom from the curse through His blood that was shed on the cross. That's why bad things happen to good people because of the generational curse that has come down through the ages to rob, kill and destroy all that don't receive the love of the truth and become ''Born Again.''

Therefore, just as through one man, sin entered the world, and death through sin, thus death spread to all men, because all sinned. Romans 5: 12
