Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed earnestly that it would not rain; and it did not rain on the land for three years and six months. And he prayed again, and the earth produced its fruit. James 5:17,18

Elijah was a man who dared to believe God and was a mighty warrior against the powers of darkness that ruled ancient Israel. The scripture says he was a man just like us, but where are the Elijah's of today, where are those who by faith and courage will dare to stand up against the evil of this day?<

King Ahab and his wicked Queen Jezebel ruled Israel with an iron fist and incited the people to worship idols and the false gods of Baal and Asherah who had 850 false prophets. Elijah confronted them on Mount Carmel and challenged them to a duel of sorts, for them to call upon their gods and Elijah his and the god who answered by fire was God! Keep in mind Elijah was confronting an entire government, along with all of its prophets and religious leaders. It would be like one of us confronting Washington and its false gods and politically corrupt politicians and it would surely create a firestorm of rage against whoever had the courage to do so!

America is no different than Israel who had drifted away from their God under the rule of wicked leaders who were ungodly and deceptive and led an entire nation into sin! If anyone dared to confront this corrupt government of ours today he would have Hell to pay! Its too bad Trump is an unbeliever and as deceptive as the government he is confronting or he might be able to topple this poisonous political system. We need an Elijah to stand against the evil of the day and the wickedness that has been allowed to come out of the darkness of their closets because there is no fear of God!

Actually Elijah is a type and shadow of today's true church of the Lord Jesus Christ, able to confront the devil himself and pray fire down from Heaven, but she is in a sermon induced coma of complacency in that she is afraid to offend and to confront the evil of the day with the sword of the Spirit and the Holy Spirit power she has been given. She lies in state one day a week in her whitewashed tombs on every corner, her armor on display, rusting away from lack of use while the world sinks into Hell! Until the church has the courage to stand and fight as Elijah did, darkness will continue to flood the earth with evil and wickedness, ruled by principalities and the powers of Hell!

Confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much. James 5:16
