One of the soldiers pierced His side with a spear, and immediately blood and water came out. John 19:34
Jesus's heart was pierced and broken for the sins of man and His mission to forgive us and save us was finished. Now the greatest miracle was about to take place, He would rise from the dead to give witness to the world that He was truly the Son of the living God, Lord of lords, and King of all kings!
On Sunday Mary Magdelene went to the tomb and found that the stone had been rolled away and Jesus was nowhere to be found. Fearing that the body was stolen she ran to Peter and told him Jesus was not there and they went to the tomb and it was true He was gone. Later He appeared to Mary and sent her with the first apostolic message to give to His disciples.
Jesus told Mary, "Go to My brethren and say to them, 'I am ascending to My Father and to your Father and to My God and your God.' " Jesus then said to them, "As the Father has sent Me, I also send you." And He filled them with the Holy Spirit and commissioned them.
And truly Jesus did many other signs in the presence of His disciples, which are not written in this book; but these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name. John 20:30,31
