For we know that if our earthly house, this tent, is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. II Corinthians 5:1
Now that I am approaching my eternal destiny and can begin to see the light at the end of the tunnel, my whole perspective on life has changed, realizing that soon I will enter into the very realms of eternity!
For thirty nine years I plowed in the kingdom, sowing and reaping, winning some and losing some, but planting seed in hearts hopeful for change. I have made many mistakes and had many failures and regrets but I, like Paul press on toward that upward call! Though my mission and vision have changed my zeal for God hasn't because I am looking forward to eternity, whether here or there I will live for Him.
Many are worried and fearful of an uncertain future in this world, but praise God because He has overcome the world. This world is passing away and ultimately it will burn according to Peter as we look for a new world in which righteousness dwells.
For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed with our habitation (dwelling) which is from Heaven, if indeed, having been clothed, we shall not be found naked. II Corinthians 5:2,3
Are you ready? Have you prepared for life eternal or are you striving to maintain your comfortable life here on earth. I had a friend who dropped dead one morning while out walking and I knew he had many irons in the fire with multiple businesses and a multitude of problematic situations.
At his funeral he had his Harley sitting there but left his family with many problems and un-settled affairs and in his hand in the casket was a fork and his message was, "The best is yet to come!" In spite of his life and business he knew the Lord and knew that although he was absent from the body he had a dwelling place and his eternal destiny was forever fixed in Heaven.
Is your eternal destiny and destination settled, are you truly born again and washed in the Savior's blood? If not, I suggest you repent and give your heart and life to Jesus, because the time is near and your life on this earth is like a vapor, here today and gone tomorrow! May God give you an urgency to prepare for your eternal destiny in the kingdom to come!
Now He who has prepared us for this very thing is God, who has given us the Spirit as a guarantee. (down payment) So we are always confident, knowing that while we are at home in the body we are absent from the Lord. For we walk by faith, not by sight. We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord. Therefore we make it our aim, whether present or absent, to be well pleasing to Him. II Corinthians 5:5-9
