For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. Ephesians 6:8,9
The gift of eternal life given to those who would trust God for the salvation of their souls must realize that the gift cost the life of the giver! Jesus laid down His own life in the greatest act of supreme sacrifice for us who deserved to perish for our sins.
Millions go through life never thinking about the condition of their eternal soul and where they will spend eternity, going to work, storing up treasure, making sure they have enough to retire and then suddenly without warning, they die in their sins! All of a sudden in the blink of an eye they are standing before the One who died for them so that they would not have to be punished for their sins in a fiery hellish eternity. Imagine looking into the eyes of the Lamb of God, blood stained for us and tears in His eyes because the gift was refused and the sentence of damnation handed down instead of life eternal in Heaven's splendor.
The salvation of one's soul is a costly endeavor because blood was shed and a life was exchanged for us. The greatest gift ever given by the Father of lights, grieved over the condition of His children and because He loved us so much, He gave His most precious possession, His only Son! Have you received God's gift of eternal life, or have you refused His love offering, whose blood washed us from our sins and saved our mortal souls? In order to receive the free gift one must himself be willing to die for Him who first died for us. The choice is yours.
"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. "For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved." John 3:16,17
