If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth. For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. Colossians 3:1-3

If a person is truly born again he is buried with Christ in baptism and raised to newness of life in the Spirit. A new creation whose heart has been changed by the power of God will naturally or should I say supernaturally, seek the things of God.

Just as Jesus was tempted in the wilderness by the devil, so the new believer will also be tempted with the things of the world. Satan told Jesus if He would worship him he would give Him all the kingdoms of the world had to offer. This is where many new believers are seduced to deny the Lord and follow the flesh that desires the things of the world and they fall off the narrow road and find themselves on the "Highway to Hell!"

It is imperative for the new believer to become rooted and grounded in God's word, seeking the things of the Spirit and resisting the things of the world in order to become strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might as Ephesians exhorts us, and to allow the supernatural covering of God's armor to grow upon us as we learn to war in the Spirit.

When Christ who is our life appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory. Therefore put to death your members which are on the earth: fornication, uncleanness, passion, evil desire and covetousness, which is idolatry. Because of these things the wrath of God is coming upon the sons of disobedience, in which you yourselves once walked when you lived in them. Colossians 3:4-7
